You can create multiple types of users, depending on the amount of interaction the user should have with the software.

Login users have permission to log on to the software and perform tasks there. The amount of access the users have, and the type of objects they can see and modify, are determined by their role assignments. |
E-mail only user |

Email users cannot log on to the software. However, they can participate in workflows and receive emails, such as mail notifications and transmittals. |
Paper users |
SPFPaperUser |
Paper users cannot log on to the software, nor can they receive emails. However, they can be configured as recipients of transmittals, and as such, they will appear on a transmittal report that can be sent to the Print Room for distribution using some other media such as paper or CD. |
