Error message
An HTML 404 error message displays when you attempt to run the Desktop Client.
Problems
Several situations can cause this error. Check for the following problems, in particular:

ASP .NET connections are not allowed on the IIS server.
Solution
Because an HTML 404 error can result from any number of problems, you should try to get a more specific error message from the server.
On the server, open Internet Explorer and enter the following address (or equivalent for your site):
http://localhost/spfserver/ServerRequest.asmx
This action should produce an error screen. The Description should point to where the error is.
