The Common UI calls the specific SmartPlant authoring tool adapter to display the specific tool user interface for document selection. User makes the appropriate document selection. The adapter returns selections to the Common UI. |

The Common UI retrieves data from the adapter to publish for each document and interacts with the SmartPlant Client component. The SmartPlant Client component sends published data to the SmartPlant Foundation server. SmartPlant Foundation server uses the file service to put published XML files and view files in the SmartPlant Foundation vault. |
