Configure Validation Rule _Version 2018

The validation rule must be defined for all the templates.

A template with a set of rules is applied to the pdf files only if the pdf file satisfies the validation rule defined in the template. In the above example, the template is applied to the pdf files in which the text “HADDEN” is present in the same area and location in the file.

  • This can be done by annotating the text “HADDEN” and defining a rule RT=VL.

  • You can view the extracted content from the annotated area in the Annotated Text box in the Editing Rule for <Rule Name> window.

  • You can increase the range of the annotated area by modifying the offset values by doing as follows:

    1. Click Configure Rule Configure Rule_Preprocessor Utility to open the Editing Rule for <Rule Name> window.

    2. In the Editing Rule for <Rule Name> window, type integer values in the Offset X (OSX) and Offset Y (OSY) boxes. The offset values are used to align drawings that have the keywords available in slightly different positions.

    3. Select the Trim Text check box to remove the spaces from the extracted text, and click OK.

      For example: RT=VL|OSX=10|OSY=10

      Here,

RT stands for Rule Type which is set to Validation (VL).
