Setting return dates
The planned return date for an activity deliverable is calculated by adding the actual receipt date to the internal review period and the external review period.
The due date for an activity deliverable is calculated by adding the return date to the return period.
The activity return dates are set using the Manage Activity Item Dates command. See Update activity item dates for more information about setting these dates.
These dates are calculated as follows:

Planned return date (date to return the deliverable to the supplier) = actual receipt date + internal review period + external review period

Due date (date due back from supplier) = actual return date + return period
Setting return status codes
The return status of a deliverable is set by the user as the deliverable is received and checked. The user can use the Update Progress command to update the return status. Other options include configuring a dedicated update command, or configuring a workflow to update the item's progress dates.
