In this mode, SmartPlant Foundation operates as a data warehouse (Scenario 1 depicted below). It operates as a repository to store and view published data coming from various authoring tools. In this scenario, the complete SmartPlant schema would be delivered in order to support the data warehouse layer.
In the above diagram, the majority of the configuration is common to the authoring mode.
The Data Warehouse layer defines the configuration for supporting the storage, loading, correlation, and navigation of data published by the design tools, including SmartPlant Foundation.
Customers may use a separate SmartPlant Foundation server and database, if they want to also use SmartPlant Foundation in Authoring mode. This is depicted below in Scenario 2.
Users could connect to either of the servers depending on whether they want to view published data in the warehouse or manage data in the authoring database of SmartPlant Foundation.
