Add performance counters to Performance Monitor - SmartPlant Foundation - IM Update 48 - Help - Hexagon

1. Run Windows Performance Monitor.

   You can type perfmon at a command line, or use Start > Administrative Tools > Performance Monitor.

2. Select the Performance Monitor node in the tree view.

3. Click Add Counters .

4. In the Add Counters dialog box, from the Select counters from computer list, select <Local computer>.

5. Expand the SmartPlant Foundation heading in the list, select the counters you want to use, and click Add.

   The counters are added to the Added counters list on the right side of the dialog box.

6. Click OK.

After the counters have been added to Performance Monitor, if they have been enabled in Server Manager, you can now perform the set of tasks for which you want to capture performance data, and the counters will be incremented.

If the counters remain enabled in Server Manager after they have been deleted from the server, the performance counters will not capture data, and the following error is written to the trace log: "InvalidOperationException: The requested Performance Counter is not a custom counter, it has to be initialized as ReadOnly." To resolve this problem, reset the performance counters as described in Resetting performance counter values.
