Once the tags in the authoring domain are ready to be added into the SmartPlant Master Tag Registry, you can group them together by associating them to an authored document to make it easier for you to manage the tags. The tags are grouped together by their status, vendor, and supply responsibility property values. After tags are associated with an authored document, the document is ready to be published from the MTRAuthoring domain to the MTRPublishing domain.

Tags are related to a specific document, then as the tag data evolves, you can create snapshots of the data as it exists at any point in time. These snapshots are managed as versions of the document. To publish tag data from the authoring domain to the data warehouse, create a snapshot of the authored document. Each snapshot you create consists of an XML data file and contains the list of tags associated with the document as it exists when the snapshot is created. When you publish a snapshot, the data in the XML file is loaded into the publish domain and consolidated in the CDW domain.

Once the tag information has been published, it can be included in a tag register. Over time, if the details about the tag change, you can create additional snapshots that can then be published to update the information in the CDW domain so that registers can be recreated with updated data.
