Workpack and workpack templates cannot be created until the relevant hierarchies have been set. Deliverables are assigned to an appropriate workpack based upon matching each of the hierarchy levels with one of its properties.

You can define a progress hierarchy at a system level or for specified projects. If a hierarchy is not defined for a project, the system-wide hierarchy is used.

Each progress hierarchy will consist of one or more levels. When defining workpacks for a project, the workpack must contain a value for each of the hierarchy levels, and the combination of values must be unique.

The number of levels available for the progress reporting hierarchy is limited to ten.

Deliverables are assigned to an appropriate workpack based upon matching each of the hierarchy levels with one of its properties.

  • You cannot modify a hierarchy once a workpack has been defined for it.

  • You cannot add a project hierarchy if a workpack for that project has already been defined against a system hierarchy.

A hierarchy must contain a minimum of one level and a maximum of ten levels.
