SPO/E Core includes the following work processes:

Action Item and Issue Tracking - This acts as a communications platform for various interfaces within a particular scope of work. It manages the party and relationship details, and also provides reports.

Consolidated Data Warehouse - The main entities defined in this work process are the basic definitions for common objects and relationships that are used by the PBS, DMS, TAG, WBS, XMTL, and MAM work processes. CDW provides all the basic definitions for the consolidated data warehouse to be aligned with the product schema.

SPO/E Core Basic Definitions - This work process enables the bulk load of the PBS data (system, area, unit, and so on) from Microsoft Excel.

Document Management - This contains a comprehensive set of work processes for document management, including the central allocation of document numbers, capture of document metadata, file archiving, distribution/review, subscription, check in/check out, and online approval and transmittal of documentation internally and externally.

Engineering and Design - This work process maintains the dynamic design basis in accordance with planned design modifications during the plant life cycle.

Manufacturer, Asset, Model - This work process manages the relationships between tags, models, assets, and manufacturers.

Office Integration - This work process enables you to save or retrieve documents to or from SPO/E without using a SPO/E client. An "add-in" to Microsoft applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint) allows you to save or retrieve documents to or from SPO/E.

Plant Breakdown Structure - This work process enables the bulkload of the PBS data (system, area, unit, and so on) from Microsoft Excel.

Tag Management/Central Tag Allocation - This provides the centralized allocation of tag numbers in SmartPlant Foundation, in accordance with a pre-defined engineering numbering system, maintenance of tag data, data sheets, and the publishing of tag details to SmartPlant Enterprise design tools (as supported by existing SmartPlant adapters).
