Right-click the document you want to modify, then click Edit > Check Out (Secure).

In the Validate dialog box, type the purpose for checking out the document in the Purpose box.

Type the password in the Password box, and click Save.

In the Check Out dialog box, browse to select a location you want to check out the document.

Click OK. The document is checked out, and the purpose for checking out the document is saved and is displayed under the ISPXIntentionOfChange section in the Properties window.
