The Reserve Vendor Document command allows you to create new vendor documents and reserve these in an inactive state. When you reserve a vendor document, you create a document master, but not a version or a revision. The revision and version are created when the reserved vendor document is activated.

Click File > New > Reserve Vendor Document.

Depending on your SmartPlant Foundation configuration, you may be required to select the type of document that you want to create on the File > New submenu.

Depending on your configuration, other steps in this procedure may also be different.

In the New Reserve Vendor Document dialog box, expand the document category for which you want to create a document.

Select the document type for the new document.

Click Next.

Provide additional information for the new document. Asterisks (*) indicate required information.

Click Finish to reserve the vendor document.
When you create a vendor document, the status of the document is set to Reserved.
You can also reserve a new vendor document by right-clicking the document type that you want to create in the tree view and selecting Reserve Vendor Document.
