Using Data Validator Job Management, you can create jobs that manage the automation of the import, validation, and export of data into selected target systems, such as SmartPlant Foundation. The basis for each job is the job definition defined in Data Validator Administration, which combines all the settings into one job. The user can view a list of the job definitions to which they have access in the New Job Wizard. As Data Validator Job Management runs the job through the defined process, the job's progress and summary are displayed for each stage.

The workflow selected in the job definition defines the process steps to be used as the job progresses. The workflows are configurable; the administrator can add or subtract process steps, as necessary. Some process steps have customized behavior, so they have a dialog box specific to that behavior. For example:

  • Validation report generation is optional in the workflow, and the report is created after the validation stage. The validation report is persisted in the staging area of the system and can be viewed in the Desktop Client application.

  • Implicit delete report generation is optional, and the reports can be downloaded once they have been generated.

  • Some workflows can include a set of specific interactive steps, each requiring approval using the To Do list functionality in the Desktop Client application.

  • Data Validator does not support reviving an object after it has been terminated. This includes reviving any data that was created as the result of a claim.
