Problem
After a site has been created and a local user account has been created to run as the identity for the SmartPlant Foundation application pool, trying to access the site results in an HTTP 401 error (unauthorized access error).
Solution
The SmartPlant Foundation application pool identity must be set to a domain user account, not a local user account, and this domain user account must be a member of the SPFUsers group on that server.
