The following steps illustrate how to create a new project and assign users.

To create a sub-project in the Desktop Client, edit the applicable form (create or copy) for the configuration item to remove the read-only restriction on the display item with the relationship to the higher configuration. Additionally, you must make the now editable display item mandatory. Once the display item is editable, you can use it on the form to select a project to which to copy the new sub-project.

  1. Create the new project by clicking File > New > Support Items and identifying the parent plant or by using the New Project shortcut menu command on the plant in the Desktop Client tree view or the role assignment configuration tree view.

    Projects can also be created in the Web Client, see Create a project.

  2. When you create the project, set the project status to Active to make it immediately selectable for new work or to Created to prevent it from being used for new work immediately.

  3. Click Administration > Configuration Role Assignment to display the role assignment user interface.

  4. Set the configuration status filter to Created if the project was created in this state in step 2.

  5. Select the new project in the tree. The roles that you can assign will be displayed.

  6. Select the roles you want to assign.

  7. Query for the users you want to assign, and select them.

  8. Click the Role Assignments tab, and make the relevant role assignments.

  9. Click OK.
