This functionality was modified in an update. For more information, see Prepare the content (modified in an update).

You must be assigned a Planner role to complete this step.

The Prepare Content page is automatically displayed if you select Prepare Content when creating a work package. Alternatively, if you have saved a draft of the work package, you can open it from your To Do List by selecting Add drawings and documents or comments, followed by Actions > Prepare Content.

  1. Select:

    • Manage Documents or Manage Tags to relate documents or tags to the work package. For more information, see Manage related information.

    • Relationship Builder to relate change requests to the work package. For more information, see Manage related information.

    • Manage Markup Layers to choose the markup layers to include in the consolidated files of the work package. For more information, see Manage markup layers.

In the Manage Markup Layers page, any markup layers created for the work package are automatically selected.

    • Manage related files to attach additional files from your computer to the work package. Attached files are displayed in the All Files tab.

    • Potential Conflicts or Potential Impacts to Analyze the impact of the work package.

    • View Work Package Scope 2D to show the tags related to the work package in a 2D drawing.

    • View Work Package Scope 3D to show the tags related to the work package in a 3D model.

SHARED Tip Select Expand icon next to a document to show the associated files. The Orange Warning Triangle icon indicates that the file cannot be viewed, either because the web file has not yet been generated or because the base Hexagon file is not available. See Manually generate or regenerate WebGL viewer files for Hexagon 2D and 3D files (retired) for details of how to generate the web file. Contact your administrator if the base file is unavailable.

  2. Select Complete to generate PDF renditions of documents that have attached files, including markups. The work package is then sent for approval if required. A consolidated PDF is also generated including all the documents attached to the work package.

  • You can also select Save as Draft to save the work package so that you can continue working on it later.

  • A watermark showing the current date is added to the PDFs so that it is easy to see when a printed copy is out of date. For more information on configuring the watermark, see Configure watermarks. If you want to create a PDF with a customized watermark, use the workflow process steps described in Create document PDF renditions and Create a consolidated PDF rendition object.

  • A PDF is not generated when a work package has no documents.

  • If a PDF rendition fails to generate and attach, the system directs the workflow to the Correct Failure step. For more information on PDF rendition errors, see Correct PDF rendition generation failures.
