For all the file types associated with a document, you can create a change request from within a markup layer. It is a two-step process:

  • You place a specific image, called a change request pin, on the file, and enter the details of the change request.

  • The Web Client creates the change request, which is displayed in your To Do list for you to Prepare the change request. The Web Client also attaches a changemark to the change request pin, so that you can see the change request information on the View and Markup with Change Request page.

  1. Search for the required document.

  2. From the document's Actions menu, select View and Markup with Change Request.

This option is available only for the current signed-off version of the document.

  3. If you are viewing a Hexagon 2D drawing with a markup rendition (PDF) generated, click the Markup tab.

  4. Click Markup , and select:

    • New markup to add the change request pin in a new markup layer

    • Open for edit to add the change request pin to an existing markup layer

  5. From the expanded toolbar, select Image.

  6. Click Image VIEW_MARKUP_IMAGE_ICON, and then click Image Options Choose Image Gear to choose the image your organization uses for change request pins.

Even if several images are available, only one can be used as a change request pin. Change requests are only created when you choose the image that your organization uses for change request pins.

SHARED Tip The default image is GreenActionPin . However, your administrator might have changed it using the SDACreateClassObjAndRelFromMarkup client API.

  7. Click anywhere in the file to place the change request pin.

SHARED Tip To move or resize the change request pin, click Select , and click the change request pin.

  8. Create the change request as described in Create a change request.

  9. Click Markup , and select Save Markup.

  • Change request pins can only be deleted if the corresponding change request is not in a workflow. They are deleted in the View and Markup with Change Request page in the same way that action pins are deleted in the View and Markup page. For information on how to delete an action pin, see Deleting action pins from the View and Markup page.

  • When a change request is completed any related change request pins are automatically deleted.
