If more than one drawing file exists that have continuing information from a main file attached to the master document, such drawings are called continuation drawings. The documents with continuing information are related to the master document.

The relationship with continuation drawings is created using off-page connectors (OPCs). When the drawing files are processed, using either Content Discovery Task, Extract Content, or Check in with Content extraction, any information related to the continuation drawings is extracted and stored as the OPC. The OPC in the drawing file allows you to navigate to the documents with the same name as the OPC, or any one of the alias OPCs.

You can view continuation drawings using OPCs from drawings and PDF file types.

To view the continuation drawing from a master document, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Documents > All Documents or Data Capture Documents.

  2. Select any document from All Documents or Data Capture Documents list, and do either of the following:

    • Click View and Markup VIEW FILE(S) to view file in the built-in compatible viewer, depending on the file type.

    • Click View and Markup VIEW FILE(S) on the document's Actions menu to view the file in a View and Markup window.

  3. On the drawing, select and click any OPC to display its pop-up menu.

  4. In the OPC's pop-up menu, click View Continuation Drawing View OPC to navigate to its connected drawing.

  5. If the document with the continuation drawing has both SPFN and FDW versions, you are asked to select an appropriate version in the Pick the version to display for <document name> window.

To view the details of a document related to an OPC, you can do the following:

  1. On the drawing, select and click any OPC to display its pop-up menu.

  2. In the OPC's pop-up menu, click Actions > View off-page document.
