You can attach and replace files that are attached to a document in the Working revision state.
-
Select a document to revise, and select Actions > Replace Files.
-
In the New Files pane, select the file system, such as Local File System.
-
Click CHOOSE FILES, and select the files to attach to the new revision.
-
Select Copy Markups to copy any existing markups with the selected files, and click FINISH.
-
The file names being attached need to exactly match the name of the files being replaced.
-
If the new master file references other files, the reference files along with master file are attached to the document.
-
When replacing files for a document, a Reference Files Details window is displayed in the following scenarios:
-
If a master file references a file that is attached to more than one document, you can resolve the duplicates by selecting and attaching the appropriate reference file. For more information, see Attach master file which references other files and and Working with reference files and relationships.
-
If a master file references files that do not exist in the system, the missing files are shown in the Reference Files Details window. In such cases, the file upload processing continues or aborts, but you can change the default behavior of file attach by adjusting the respective method parameters. For more information, see Configure the display of missing and duplicate reference files.
The following image shows an example of the Reference Files Details window which displays the duplicate and missing reference files information.
