When creating projects and scoping disconnect electrical equipment items that have auxiliary contacts, follow the guidelines specified below:

As-Built Items

Project Requirement

Scoping and Merging

A motor connected to a standard feeder circuit

Design the space heater and its complete power source and add the required disconnect equipment

Scope the motor branch and the PDB with its circuit so that it can be claimed in the project.

Add a space heater, auxiliary contacts, the power supply circuits, and the interconnecting cables.

When merging, select both the motor, its new circuits, and the space heater circuitry

A motor with a space heater connected to the auxiliary contact of the motor circuitry and the feeder to the auxiliary contacts circuitry

Delete all or part of the space heater circuitry.

Select the motor as a scoped item all its related space heater circuitry (space heater, its feeder cable, the auxiliary contacts, the cable that feeds the auxiliary contacts. Note that the bus and the PDB that feeds the auxiliary circuitry will be scoped as view only.
