The naming convention is a means of ensuring a consistent structure and maintaining uniqueness of tags for items of the same type. Once you define a naming convention for an item type such as motors, the software tags any new items of that type using the mask and structure of the naming convention. The naming convention is a combination of properties, text strings, and separators that makes up the tag structure in the Electrical Index. You define naming conventions in the Options Manager.
