Each class can have class dependent properties. These properties are not part of the idents. They also have their corresponding values. The class dependent properties can be managed through a grid view that is next to the class properties grid view.

When a new class is created, it inherits all the class system dependent properties as class dependent properties.

  • Path: This is a read-only field and displays the complete path starting from the root up to the selected class in the tree.

The grid contains the following columns.

  • Property Type: This field specifies the property type for a particular class, which can either be a Table or an Attribute. The Selection list LOV on this field will provide these two options.

  • Table: This field specifies the table to be associated with the selected class as its property. A table can be selected in this column if the property type is Table. Or, once you select a table in this column, the property type is automatically set to Table.

  • Attribute: This field specifies the attribute to be associated with the selected class as its property. An attribute can be selected in this column if the property type is Attribute. Or, once you select an attribute in this column, the property type is automatically set to Attribute.

  • Data Type: You can select the data type of the property if the default data type needs to be overridden from the class. The types can be CHAR, NUMBER, DATE, or GRAPHICS.

  • Mandatory: Select the check box if it is mandatory that a component of this class have a value for this property, or else leave it unchecked. The global properties inherited by the class are inherited with their mandatory flag also. If you want to reset it, it can be done here but the same will be applicable for the selected class only. For example, if a global property has the mandatory flag set as Y (that is, Yes), it can be set to N for the class by un-checking the check box.

  • Editable on Class: You can check this check box if the corresponding data value of the class dependent property can be updated. Otherwise, clear this check box.

  • Value: Specify the data value for the class dependent property.

  • S3D Attribute: You can map a Smart 3D attribute to a class dependent property by selecting the attribute from the Selection list LOV in this field.

When a Smart 3D attribute is mapped to a class dependent property, the mapping is reflected on the Data Table Configuration screen. You can view the Smart 3D attribute and class dependent property mapping on the Definition Attributes tab when you select the data table configuration corresponding to the selected class system and the data table corresponding to the selected class.

The Smart 3D attribute and class dependent attribute mapping is created on Data Table Configuration only if the selected class is mapped to a Smart 3D data table.

Grid Toolbar Buttons: In order to operate on the data displayed in the grid, you can click one of the buttons provided on the grid toolbar. The main buttons and their operations are as given below –

  • Edit Mode: On click, this will set the grid for edit operation. If you want to add / modify / delete data, click this button first.

  • Read Only Mode: By default, the grid appears in read-only mode. After edit operations are done and you have saved your data, click this button to set the grid again in read-only mode. Please note that when grid is in edit mode, all other controls will be disabled; those controls are enabled again when you set the grid in read-only mode by clicking this button. Do not close the window when the grid is in edit mode; all the menu options will remain in a locked condition.

  • Add Row: Click this button to add a blank row in the grid to create a new record.

  • Check Grid: Once you are done with your modifications in the grid, you can click this button to evaluate any possible errors in the data before you save.

  • Save: Save the modifications done in the grid data. You can create new properties of type Attribute and Smart 3D attributes on this screen. If any table or attribute or Smart 3D attribute entered does not exist, the CMS Create Properties dialog box is displayed when saving the grid. See Create new attributes and tables for more information.

  • Selection list LOV: This button will be available only in edit mode when the cursor is in a column that has a selection list associated to it. Click this button to select a valid value for that field.

  • Sort: Click this button to define a sort condition for the grid data.

  • Filter: Click this button to define a filter condition for the data displayed in the grid.

Grid Shortcut Menu: The following options are available when you select a row and click the right mouse button.

  • Copy: Copies the selected row in the grid.

  • Paste: Pastes the row previously selected in the currently selected row.

  • Add Row: Similar to adding a row, this button adds a blank row below the selected row, setting the grid in edit mode if not already set.

  • Delete: Deletes the row selected in the grid.

  • Duplicate Row: Creates a new row copying all values from the current row, and sets the grid in edit mode if not already set.

  • Paste (Transpose): Allows you to paste data from an Excel workbook (multiple rows) into the grid. The data is pasted as properties of type Attribute.
