This section describes the logic that is used to populate the branch selection table in the Microsoft Access database.

All idents (with the same group and part defined in the branch table that is attached to the specification and in the defined range) of the specification are exported to the branch selection table for SmartPlant Isometrics.

The Operation field in the branch selection table is populated with None for all idents corresponding to physical parts like tees or weldolets. Set-on type branch connections require a dummy part that represents the operation.

The available operations in SmartPlant Isometrics are SetOn, Tap, ReinforcedSetOn, and PulledSetOn. If you want to use an operation other than None, you must:

  1. Define the attribute BRANCH_OPERATION.

  2. Attach this attribute to M_PARTS.

  3. Define a dummy part that represents the branch operation.

  4. Add this dummy part to the branch table.
