You can assign values to each special attribute associated with a commodity part. After the values are assigned to the special attributes, these values will appear in the layout description of the all commodity codes and idents associated with this commodity part.

SHARED Tip To know how to define a commodity layout, see Define commodity layout.

  1. Click SRD > Component Manager > Commodity/Ident Management.

  2. Select the Commodity Group/Part/Commodity Code/Ident from the drop-down list at the top of the tree view.

  3. Double-click a commodity group to open the Commodity Parts grid. All the part codes for the selected commodity group are displayed in the grid.

  4. Right-click the required row header in Commodity Parts grid and select Special Attributes. The attributes assigned to that special table appear in the special attributes grid.

  5. Type a value to each attribute.

    • You can also select the values by clicking on LOV LOV .

    • You can also copy values from an external file and paste it.

  6. Click Save Grid .

  • Click Delete all special attributes Delete. This will delete all the special attributes and their values assigned to this commodity part. Re-open the special attributes grid to view the attributes from the special table assigned to the commodity group for this part. You can do this only when there is no commodity code associated with this part.

  • You can click Cancel cancel while updating the attribute values. This will display the all the previously saved values. Once you update the values and save the grid, this option will be disabled.

  • If you duplicate a commodity part, then its corresponding special attributes will duplicate for the new part.

  • When you copy a commodity part and paste insert to create a new commodity part, then the special attributes will also get copied.
