  1. Click SRD > XS10 Component Manager > XS1060 Attribute Management.

  2. In the list at the top of the tree view, select Attribute Groups/Attributes.

  3. Click Add PropertiesNew.

  4. Complete the properties for the new attribute group.

  5. Click Save SaveGrid, and then close the dialog box.

  6. In the tree view, click Refresh Refresh to see the new attribute group.

Attributes Grid

Data Type - Specifies the data type (number, char, date and so on) and valid values for Data Type.

Width - Defines the size (valid data width) for the attribute.

Precision - Defines the number of decimal digits of the attribute.

Reqd - Specifies whether the attribute is a required entry. If the project default ZX_HL_RQAT is set to Y, required attributes are highlighted in the core workflow screens with the background color that has been selected for required items (default: green).

Form Width - Displays the width in the screen.

metr<->engl - Displays the LOV to select the screen used to calculate the conversion to other units of measure. If you select S.40.04.06 Other, you can assign a table defined on S.40.04.06 in the S400406 Code field.

Query - Select the check box if the query for attribute values should be case-sensitive.

Restrict - Defines if the input of attribute values is restricted to uppercase or lowercase. The available options are:

  • NONE (default) - Text appears as typed.

  • LOWER - Uppercase text is converted to lowercase.

  • UPPER - Lowercase text is converted to uppercase.

Low - Specifies the minimum attribute value.

High - Specifies the maximum attribute value.

Label Text - Defines the field label displayed instead of the attribute name on the screens where the attribute appears.

Hint Text - Specifies hint text displayed in the form.

Derived From - Here you can document the origin of the attribute. When this table detail is updated, all commodity codes that were created based on this attribute are updated as well.

Important: You must also enter a Description using the [NLS] function.

S2002 Reference - Valid Values 'Y' and 'N'. Select the checkbox (i.e. 'Y') if it is required to update the Attribute values and the Attribute based commodity codes where the value of the Attribute is based on a query on Table details.

Allow Update - Select the checkbox if the BOM values for this attribute are updatable even if the BOM is locked/released.

TE Relevant - Indicates whether this attribute is relevant for technical evaluation by procurement. If this check box is selected and this attribute has been assigned to an ident of item type TAB (Tag Attribute Based), this attribute is taken into account for the preparation of the technical evaluation of an inquiry and its resulting quotes. For more information, see Technical Evaluation Checklists.

Inherit - If this is checked and the same attribute is defined on Physical Tables M_PARTS and M_COMMODITY_CODES in A.50.03 then, the value of this attribute on Part shall be copied to the newly created Commodity Codes by default. However, the value on Commodity Codes can be modified later on.

Ident NLS - Indicates whether the corresponding attribute shall be included in Ident NLS or not.

Multi Value - Select the check box if multiple values are allowed for this attribute.

LOV Type - Select Open or Close from the drop-down list.

  • If the LOV type is set to Close, you can select only from the valid values available for the attribute in the Multi Article View of CMS.

  • If the LOV type is set to Open, you can additionally add new valid values for the attribute in the Multi Article View of CMS. In this case, a window opens where you can enter the sequence, the attribute value, and the description.

Allow Intervals - Select the check box if intervals are allowed for the attribute values.

Allow Negative - If the attribute is of data type NUMBER, you can select the check box if negative values are allowed for the attribute.

Display Format - Defines a format template for the entry and display of the attribute values.
