Indicates the sustained torsional moment index (It). You can use this index value (along with the torsional moment due to sustained loads) to determine the amount of stress that is due to sustained torsional moment.

Specify this value for any point in the piping system by selecting SSIFs & Tees on the Classic Piping Input Dialog. Type the node number to which the stress index applies. Then, specify the Torsion Index (It) value on the User SIFs Dialog.

If you do not specify a value for Torsion Index (It), CAESAR II sets the value to 1.0 by default.

For more information on stress intensification factors (SIFs) in CAESAR II, see Stress Intensification Factors and Stress Indices Details.
