  1. Open a CAESAR II file.

  2. Click Home > Input > Piping Input O331135 in the main window.

The Classic Piping Input dialog box displays.

  3. Click Distance O343462 on the Input Tools toolbar.

    The Distance dialog box opens.

  4. Double-click to select the element.

  5. Click Origin and To Nodes.

You must have only one element selected on the model to use Origin and To Nodes.

The software displays the measured distance from the To node of the element selected to the origin (first) node in the model.

The distance measurement, including the location of the start and end points, displays in the Results section of the dialog box and at the bottom of the main CAESAR II window. The delta DX, DY, DZ boxes at the bottom of the Distance dialog box show the differences of change along the three axes.

  • After you select the method for measuring the distance, you can dock the Distance dialog box to the side. Then, as you measure distances, the results display on the model and in the status bar at the bottom of the window.

  • Press ESC to stop the distance measuring functionality on the model (but leave the dialog box open),or close the Distance dialog box.
