Enter the allowable stress intensity factor for combined membrane and bending stress at the attachment edge or pad edge. This factor is multiplied by the allowable stress f to obtain a maximum allowable stress for the membrane stress plus bending stress. These stresses are in rows 27, 28 and 29 in the printout samples in PD 5500 Annex G.
At the attachment edge (nozzle neck), this factor normally has a maximum value of 2.25.
At the edge of the pad, this factor is normally 2.0.
