CAESAR II Version
13

Controls the assumption that the geometry of a B31.3 and B31J welding and contour insert tee (sweepolet) meets the dimensional requirements of the code and can be classified as ANSI B16.9.

True

For 2018 and earlier editions of B31, assumes that the fitting geometry meets the requirements of Addendum A01, Note 11 and uses a flexibility characteristic of 4.4*T/r.

For 2020 and later editions of ASME B31.1 and B31.3, assumes that the fitting geometry meets the requirements of B31J-2017.

False

Uses a flexibility characteristic of 3.1*T/r, according to the A01 addendum. False is the default value.

For B31J, this property follows Note 6. See Reduction of SIFs and Flexibility Factors in B31J Methods.

Prior to version 4.40, CAESAR II always used a flexibility characteristic of 4.4*T/r. To match runs on versions prior to 4.40, set this option to True.
