This example shows how to create a rectangular grid for a pipe rack with multiple elevations, X-Axis planes, and Y-Axis planes. The pipe rack coordinate system will also be offset from the model monument.

Select Structural Tab > Coordinate System Command to display the Coordinate System Controls.

Select a parent system for the pipe rack coordinate system. In this example, we will use the CS system.

Type a name for the coordinate system. In this example, we'll use Pipe Rack 146 for the name.

For the Type, select Grids and Rectangular.

Select the arrow at the end of the Global Origin field and type the offset from the global origin. In this example, we will use 300 ft for Origin X and 450 ft for Origin Y.

Select Create Grids to open the Grids Dialog.
