Measures distances and angles between objects in the model, including edges, faces, and key points.
Measurements display as text floating beside the cursor and as values on the ribbon. Smart 3Dx also saves these values as part of the measurement History.
Measurement types include:
Between 2 points
Measures the linear distance between two key points. A key point is any point that you can highlight with the SmartSketch relationship indicators.
Measure Distance Between 2 Points Controls
Minimum distance
Measures the shortest distance between two objects.
The software does not use the SmartSketch list when measuring minimum distance. The SmartSketch list is used, however, when measuring distance.
Measure Minimum Distance Controls
Distance along element
Measures from a reference point on an element to the last point clicked on the element, or along the entire element by pressing A on the keyboard.
Measure Distance Along Element Controls
Radius and diameter
Measures the diameter or radius of a hole or fillet.
Measure Radius and Diameter Controls
Angle by 3 points
Measures the angular value between three key points or two surfaces.
Measure Angle by 3 Points Controls
Angle between objects
Measures the angle between two objects in the model.
Measure Angle Between Objects Controls
Measurement History
Smart 3Dx maintains a history of the measurements you make. These measurements are available from the Measure History list. The most recently created measurement displays at the top of the list. Point to a measurement to display that measurement temporarily in the model.
You can copy a specific value from these measurements by double-clicking that value. Select Copy All to copy all the values in that measurement. The copied values are then available from the Clipboard.
