Filters can speed up your workflow by only allowing you to select specific types of objects. For example, you can specify a pipe filter and then fence select a region of the model to select all of the pipes in that region. Locate Filters shows the filters that you have specified as those you use most often. The Any S3D_Objects_Select_All filter lets you select any object in the model.

Display the filter group

Set the active filter

Select the filters to use from Locate Filters. This option is particularly useful if you need to use a combination of filters. The active filters display a check mark next to them in the collection.

Press R to display the first seven filters in your filter group as a disc around your mouse pointer, and then select a filter.

SHARED Tip This option avoids moving the cursor away from your model, but only allows you to select a single filter.

Add filters to my group

  1. Select Edit filter group on Locate Filters to display the Edit Filter Group Dialog.

  2. Select the filters to display in your group.

    Type part of the name of the filter in the Search box to display only filters that contain that text. For example, if you type equipment, only filters that contain that word display.

    On the Standard Tab (Edit Filter Group), point to an object type name above a group of filters to display the All option. Select All to select all of the filters for that object type.

  3. Select Apply and Close.

Remove filters from my group

  1. Select Edit filter group on Locate Filters to display the Edit Filter Group Dialog.

  2. Clear the filters to remove from your group.

    Type part of the name of the filter in the Search box to display only filters that contain that text. For example, if you type equipment, only filters that contain that word display. Clear the filter check box to remove the filter from your group.

  3. Select Apply and Close.
