Business Administration

  • Administrators can now fully manage conditions in the Web Client. You can search for and create conditions in the System Administration feature set, as well as update, delete, and terminate conditions from the Actions menu. Each condition syntax is now validated by the server on submission of a create or update action. This helps improve performance by not validating conditions just before they are run. For more information, see Configure conditions. (3281432)

Conditions are used to control the availability of methods displayed in the search menu, actions menu, or feature set. They can also be used to control access to specific types of object or functionality, as well as check the validity for creating relationships between two objects.

You can create or search for conditions directly in the System Administration feature set.

    Conditions

Add the full condition syntax in the Condition details section when you create a new condition.

The Bulk Revise page identifies documents not eligible for revision due to validation errors. You can then choose to proceed with the revisable documents only, or cancel the operation to address the issues first. A confirmation notification is displayed when the process starts, followed by completion updates in the Notifications list, including the number of successfully revised documents.

    Multi-Revise documents

  • You can now terminate any created Issue Purposes in the Web Client. For more information, see Configure issue purposes. (4180402)

  • There is a new merge process step class that allows you to define multiple code classes and parameters instead of just one when you create a new workflow step definition. The workflow templates can be optimized by merging similar process steps into a single process step. This reduces the database size for estates with intensive usage of workflows by minimizing the number of available process steps. For more information, see Create a workflow step definition. Information Browsing

  • You can create chart widgets that group data based on date values (for example, creation date, or due date) and combine this with other groupings, such as type, so that you can create charts showing the creation and distribution of objects across a series of time periods. For more information, see Create a widget. (3743166)

The options to group the data are available when you create or update a chart widget.

Project Collaboration and work processes

  • The workflow administrator can now make checklists mandatory and enforce their completion for a specific workflow step by turning on the 'Is Checklist Mandatory' checkbox. For more information, see Create a workflow step. (4156416)

Other

  • Smart API Manager (SAM) is a key component of SDx and provides the security layer over the OData API used by the Web Client. You must upgrade SAM from version 4 to version 5 as it includes important product fixes and security updates. The upgrade process is manual and mandatory for customers using SAM for their OData API Authentication.

If you are using named user authentication, you will need to update the Named User Authentication Extension component, which has been updated to work with the latest version of SAM.

Upgrade instructions for completing the SAM upgrade can be found here, Prepare to upgrade. (2971029)
