Standard Database for Smart Reference Data Version
12.5

Standard Database (SDB) for Intergraph Smart® Reference Data (SRD) is a pre-configured recommended practice solution to enable rapid implementation of enterprise reference data management or materials management in general.

This guide includes documentation for Version 12.5. For more information about which features are available in Version 12.5, refer to the Standard Database for Intergraph Smart® Reference Data Release Bulletin.

This document provides information and procedural instructions for:

  • Installing and configuring SDB

  • Installing and using the SDB Merge Tool, which is delivered as a part of the SDB product

  • Upgrading the SDB 12.4 database to SDB 12.5 or the older SDB 12.3 database all the way to SDB 12.5

This document also provides information about pre-mandatory scripts that need to be executed for upgrading the SDB 12.3 or SDB 12.4 database with SRD 10.2 to SDB 12.5 with SRD 10.4.

The migration procedure involves the use of the interactive web-based tool, SDB Merge Tool, for merging data into the SDB 12.3 or SDB 12.4 database from the SDB 12.5 database. The merge tool provides flexibility to select, view, and merge required content changes as part of the SDB 12.5 upgrade to get into the customer database.

What is the SDB Merge Tool?

The SDB Merge Tool is a web-based application designed to enable users to easily compare and merge two SDB databases. It provides an intuitive data grid interface that highlights differences between the databases, allowing users to selectively merge data from one database into another. For instance, users can compare Standard Database released versions with their own database and merge selective content from a Standard Database released version into their database without affecting any other content.

The data can only be merged from the Source database into the Target database, not vice versa.
