Displays cross-section properties of a straight feature that is part of a trench run. You can edit properties that are not automatically determined by the software. The property name appears on the left side of the grid, and the corresponding property value appears on the right side of the grid.
Category
Specifies the properties category that you want to view. Select Dimension or Composition.
Start Dimensions Category
Cross-section Shape
Displays the trench cross-section from the catalog. This property is inherited from the trench run and cannot be changed.
Cardinal Point
Displays the position of the trench cross-section relative to the path of the trench run. This property is inherited from the trench run and cannot be changed.
Footing Thickness
Specifies the thickness of the trench feature footing.
Wall Thickness
Specifies the thickness of the trench feature walls.
Inside Left Width
Specifies the inside left width at the start of the feature.
Inside Right Width
Specifies the inside right width at the start of the feature. When you change the width, the software asks if you also want to change the width of all the adjacent features.
The left and right widths are not with respect to the trench path. The widths are the distances from the center cross-section cardinal point to the leftmost and rightmost cardinal points. Hence, the software computes the trench widths to any one side of the cardinal point if you use bottom left/right or top left/right cardinal points.
Inside Width
The total inside width at the start of the feature.
Inside Depth
Displays the inside depth at the start of the feature. This property is inherited from the trench run. You can change the inside depth if Overwrite Feature Depths is True, and if the start of the feature is not associated with the turn feature. Otherwise, this property is read-only. Overwrite Feature Depths is on the General tab in the Trench Run Properties Dialog.
Area
Specifies the cross-section area. This property is read-only and is computed by adding the area of individual trench features under the trench run.
Depth
Specifies the total depth of the trench feature including the footing thickness.
Width
Specifies the total width of the trench feature including the thickness of the walls.
Perimeter
Specifies the perimeter of the cross-section.

Specifies the perimeter of the cross-section.
Composition Category
Composition properties are inherited from the trench run and cannot be edited.
Material
Specifies the material used for the trench or a trench part, such as the walls, slab, or footing. You cannot vary wall and footing material from feature to feature. However, you can change the material properties so that identical properties are applied to all features under that trench run.
Material Grade
Specifies the material grade used for the trench or a trench part, such as the walls, slab, or footing. The number of sets of material and material grade is dependent on the selected cross-section shape.
