Why should I assign price codes to a packing list or package?

The price codes indicate the total costs for shipping packages from the source location to the final destination. Different freight forwarders might follow different rules for defining the price codes. Typically, price codes and the shipment costs depend on various criteria like geographical area, port of loading, HLO criteria, method of transportation, and so on. By assigning price codes to a package or a packing list, you specify which price codes will apply for that packing list or package. This in turn will help in determining the total shipping costs for the package or packing list.

Can I assign price codes to PPLs created for a requisition?

Yes, you can assign price codes to a PPL no matter if the PPL is for an agreement, an engineering requisition, or a planned requisition. This is also true for preliminary packages.

  1. Select the PPL or packing list and click the Price Codes tab.

  2. If you want to assign price codes to individual packages:

    1. Select Packages from the Assign Price Codes on list.

    2. Select the packages by clicking the check boxes and click Next.

  3. Select Filtered from the View list, to view only the price codes that apply to the PPL or packing list.

You can configure CIP GET_PCODE_FILTER_LIST to specify any or all of the following properties which will be compared to identify the matching price codes for a PPL or packing list.

    • SHIPMENT_PHASE
