This Release Bulletin is a high-level description of new features for users who are familiar with Standard Database (SDB).
Standard Database (SDB) for Intergraph Smart® Reference Data (SRD) is a pre-configured recommended practice solution to enable rapid implementation of enterprise reference data management or materials management in general. SDB incorporates a comprehensive catalog of industry standard multi-discipline material parts organized and described for use by owners or operators in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction. The content is pre-configured to enable catalog and piping specification interfaces to intelligent 3D applications (Smart® 3D, CADWorx - 21 specifications, Smart Isometrics - 15 specifications, and E3D/PDMS - 4 specifications).
The SDB pre-configured database, now commercially available with SRD, enables users to realize the advantages and benefits that go beyond the familiar SRD benefits, such as referential integrity. The new benefits include direct time and cost savings due to a fully pre-configured component catalog. Furthermore, the existing component's structure and the interface provide a safe and proven start-up.
Engineering companies and operators have typically invested a substantial amount of time, money, and knowledge into the creation of intelligent and high-quality piping standards. The advantage of utilizing SDB is that it enables engineers to re-use and maintain this knowledge asset while leveraging it for their projects.
