You must synchronize each laser scan server object between the TruView Enterprise / TruView Cloud application server and the HxGN SDx application server in order to import site data. When you create the HxGN SDx objects, relationships are created with the corresponding TruView site objects.

  1. In the Web Client home page, click Laser Scan > Servers.

  2. In the Servers list, select a laser scan server, and click Actions > Synchronize.

  3. If the laser scan server is created using the multiuser authentication approach, enter your TruView Enterprise or Cloud credentials provided by the TruView Enterprise administrator in the Enter TruView Enterprise Credentials dialog.

You will be asked to re-enter your credentials when the TruView Enterprise or Cloud server restarts or the refresh token expires.

Show TruView Enterprise or Cloud login window

    Multiuser login

  4. In the Select Sites to Synchronize window, do the following:

    1. Select a portal from the TruView Portals list to display the list of TruView Enterprise or TruView Cloud sites assigned to the portal.

    2. Select one or more sites from the list, and click SYNCHRONIZE.

SHARED Tip To troubleshoot any errors that may occur when synchronizing or authenticating the servers, we recommend you to do the following to view the detailed error log:

  • The Portals list displays only the portals to which you are assigned in the Leica TruView Enterprise or Cloud. You can synchronize the site data that belongs to the assigned TruView portal.

  • You can synchronize all the TruView Enterprise or TruView Cloud sites at once, by clicking Select All in the Select Sites to Synchronize window.

  • In the Select Sites to Synchronize window, the public sites are represented by the icon Public site, and the private sites are represented by the icon Private site.

  • You can view and synchronize public and private site data from Leica TruView Enterprise or TruView Cloud application server. For more information on public and private sites, see About Public Sites and Anonymous Users in the Leica TruView Enterprise User Help.

  • In SPO/E Core and SmartPlant Foundation (Authoring Environment), the tag objects are not imported after synchronization. Only relationships are created between HxGN SDx objects and TruView site objects.

What is an Authentication approach?

Authentication approach is the validation done, based on the log on type used by HxGN SDx to connect and obtain data from the TruView Enterprise / TruView Cloud application server.

HxGN SDx supports the following authentication approaches to connect to the TruView server:

  • Single user

  • Multiuser

The type of authentication approach used to validate the user access is decided based on the option selected when the laser scan server object was created.

What is the difference between Single user and Multi user authentication approaches?

Single user

Multiuser

HxGN SDx Web Client uses single user account to access the data in TruView Enterprise or Cloud Server.

HxGN SDx Web Client allows multiple users to access the data in TruView Enterprise or Cloud Server.

HxGN SDx user credentials are provided and validated when creating the laser scan object using the Web Client. For more information, see Create a laser scan server.

HxGN SDx user needs to enter the credentials in the TruView Enterprise or Cloud log on window displayed in the Web Client when trying to access the data in TruView Enterprise or Cloud server.

The credentials are validated only if the user is logging for the first time. The user id asked to re-enter the credentials only when the TruView Enterprise or Cloud server restarts or the refresh token expires. For more information, see Create a laser scan server.

For more detailed information about the authentication approaches supported by the TruView Enterprise or Cloud, see TruView Development help.

What are TruView portals and how can I use them?

If you are a TruView administrator, you can configure portals using Leica TruView Enterprise or Cloud. Portals provide a number of useful features:

  • Secure user login for multiple users to access TruView site data

  • Assign uploaded TruView sites

  • Manage the sites within multiple portals

  • Assign users, where each portal can have different set of users who can access its data

You can only view the site data that belongs to the portal you are assigned to. But, if you are a TruView administrator, you can view the complete site data of all the TruView portals by validating your credentials.
