Limitations

  • The shared content share must be on a Windows-based computer.

  • Linux is a case-sensitive environment. The database template names (catalogdb.dmp and apprepos.dmp) and the folder path must be entered correctly when creating, restoring, or making a database backup.

  • When making a backup, the .bcf file must be saved to a Windows-based computer and database files must be saved to the Linux computer where the Oracle service is running.

  • When restoring a backup, the .bcf file must be read from a Windows-based computer and database files must be on the Linux computer where the Oracle service is running.

  • Your Oracle servers must be Windows-based or Linux-based. A Smart 3D site does not support a mixed operating system environment. For example, a site cannot have the catalog database on a Windows-based computer while the site's models are on a Linux-based computer.

  • Smart 3D does not support Linux for Global Workshare. You must run Oracle on a Windows-based server if you want to have Global Workshare.
