Controls whether the software uses Isometric Start Point controls points to establish the start point of the pipeline model during isometric drawing extraction.

Select the check box to direct the software to look in the model for a control point with the subtype set to Isometric Control Point. The software then uses the location of this control point as the start point for the pipeline. When you clear the check box, the software relies on the current Start Point setting.

  • Selecting Use User Defined Start Point triggers the software to perform the following validation scenarios. Each scenario results in an information message being written to the ISOGEN Configuration drawing log file.

    • If no control points of the required type are found in the pipeline, the software uses the current Start Point setting (Isogen or Automatic).

    • If multiple control points of the required type are found in the pipeline, the software uses the first control point that it finds.

    • If a control point of the required type is found, but its position is invalid (that is, the control point does not fall on a valid end point of the pipeline), the software determines the start point based on the flow direction in the pipeline model.

  • For information about creating an Isometric Start Point control point, see Set a start point for isometric drawing extraction in the Common Help.

  • This option is only supported in Smart 3D version 2018 (12.0) and later.
