The tasks in this section must be performed before you begin your upgrade process from previous versions of SPOSC to SPOSC 2019 Update 5.

  • Back up your existing SPO_SCHEMA.cfg and FormGenConfig.xml and all related schema files from <Installationdirectory>:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\SPX\Core\STs\SPOCore\SPO_SCHEMA.cfg.

  • You must manually add the upgrade instructions available at <Installationdirectory>:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\SPX\SC\STs\Systems Completion\SPOUpgrade\Systems Completion\Upgrade to the server manager upgrade instructions available at <Installationdirectory>:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\Foundation\SPFServerManager\Upgrade.

    While upgrading, ensure that the Ready to Upgrade page displays the applicable upgrade instructions of the software. The upgrade is successful only when the applicable software upgrade instructions are processed.

  • You must include the file contents of UpgradeControl.xml file available at <Installationdirectory>:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\SPX\Systems Completion\STs\SPO Systems Completion\SPOUpgrade\Systems Completion to the UpgradeControl.xml file available at <Installationdirectory>:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\Foundation\SPFServerManager\UpgradeControls.xml.

    Make sure the UpgradeControl.xml and upgrade instructions available in the server manager are the latest files delivered with the software each time you try to upgrade the systems completion site.

  • When SmartPlant Foundation is uninstalled, you must manually cleanup the previously updated upgrade instructions.
