Before you can add the commodity codes to the specification, Smart Reference Data short codes and Smart 3D short codes must be available.

  1. Open the S.10.08 Short Codes screen.

  2. Click Run query and look for a short code for a sight glass.

  3. If you do not find an appropriate short code, click New record (or press F6) to add a new row.

  4. Type SGL in the Short Code box and Sight Glass in the Short Desc and Description boxes.

  5. Click Go to next block to open Window 2.

  6. On the Parts to Short Codes tab, select MP from the LOV in the Group box and SG from the LOV in the Part box.

This maps the SGL short code to the SG part.

  7. On the Allowed Option Codes tab, select 1 from the LOV in the Option Code box and SP3D from the LOV in the Usage box.

  8. Select the SP3D Short Codes tab.

The software enters SGL by default, but this is not a valid Smart 3D short code.

  9. Click List of values (or press F9) in the SP3D Short Code box, and select Sight Glass from the list.

If you don’t find the appropriate Smart 3D short code, follow the instructions in Define the Smart 3D Short Code to create a new short code.

  10. Click Save (or press F10) to save the new record.
