After creating data in an authoring tool, users publish the data to SmartPlant Foundation. Authoring tools must publish to the SmartPlant Foundation data warehouse that is configured with the Smart Construction server.
Users can retrieve and work with many different types of data in Smart Construction. If a tool can publish to SmartPlant Foundation, then Smart Construction can retrieve and open the data in the Model View, Drawing View, Component Registers browser window, or SmartPlant Markup Plus.

When you are publishing data from Smart 3D to Smart Construction, you can use the
new mapping file that is available from Smart Support. We recommend using this file
if you are publishing data for use only in Smart Construction. These mappings reduce
the volume of published data that Smart Construction consumes. Using the mappings
can significantly improve the performance of the load and consolidate process. If
you are using the published data in Smart Construction as well as another tool, we
recommend using the delivered mapping files.
