In order to work successfully with Smart Instrumentation, the following Oracle roles and system user privileges need to be defined.

Full Database Access

These rules and system privileges allows the user full access to the Oracle database (IN_DBAMN).

These rules and system privileges can only be used if in the Database Setup Utility > New Database Definition you selected Automatic or Customized.

Roles

  • EXECUTE_CATALOG_ROLE

  • INTOOLS_ENGINEER with privileges:

    • CREATE VIEW

    • CREATE SYNONYM

    • CREATE SESSION

    • AUDIT ANY

    • CREATE TRIGGER

    • CREATE PROCEDURE

    • CREATE SEQUENCE

    • CREATE TABLE

  • SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE

Sys Admin User Privileges (IN_DBAMN)

  • ALTER SESSION

  • ALTER USER

  • ALTER TABLESPACE

  • ALTER SYSTEM

  • CREATE ANY VIEW

  • CREATE ANY TRIGGER

  • CREATE ANY PROCEDURE

  • CREATE ANY TABLE

Limited Access to Smart Instrumentation Database in Oracle (IN_DBAMN)

These rules and system privileges are added by the Database Setup Utility and allow you limited access to the Smart Instrumentation database in Oracle.

If you want to apply these limited database access rights to an existing user you need to run the Database Setup Utility (DBSetup) using a new instance and then initialize from your backup.

These rules and system privileges can only be used if in the Database Setup Utility > New Database Definition you selected Predefined.
