To use ScheduleReview functionality, you must install the Construction module. In addition, you must have the Simulation and Visual Effects module for animation functionality.

ScheduleReview allows you to use data from your project planning software, such as tasks and start/finish dates, to display the sequence of construction. You can also reverse the action, so that you can display the deconstruction sequence. ScheduleReview works in conjunction with a supported project planning application such as Primavera or Microsoft Project. ScheduleReview animations can show changes in single steps (by day, week, or month) or continuously. For example, you can use ScheduleReview to help analyze the construction process to avoid problems, show the construction of specific units in the context of the overall project schedule, display the project as it should appear on a certain day, or fly through the model while displaying the construction sequence.

The ScheduleReview time format shows Year:Month:Day and Hours:Minutes:Seconds in the Project Manager and Animation Sequencer time displays. The formats are taken from the Windows Short date and Long time Region and Language settings on your computer.

Workflow Summary

The steps below outline the major processes in ScheduleReview animation development. Commands used within each process are listed below each step.

  1. Create your ScheduleReview project.

New Project: Create a New ScheduleReview Project
Set Active Project: Set the Active Project

Additional commands that could be helpful:

Refresh Active Project: Refresh Active Project
Project Manager: Use Project Manager to Add a ScheduleReview Project to a Model, Edit a ScheduleReview Project in Project Manager
Import ScheduleReview Projects: Import ScheduleReview Projects

  2. Assign specific symbology to different types or states of tasks in your project. For example, you can designate tasks that fall into a critical type of state display in red wireframe.

Settings: Define Project and Default Task Symbology Settings
    OR
    Task Symbology: Edit Task Symbology

  3. Associate tasks to one or more display sets. The symbology assignment and this task-to-display set association represent the actual process of setting up ScheduleReview animations.

Display sets are also referred to as groups in ScheduleReview.

Add Association: Add a ScheduleReview Association
    OR
    Auto-Association: Auto-Association Tasks

Additional commands that could be helpful:

Remove Association: Remove a ScheduleReview Association

  4. Before you play your ScheduleReview animation, you can set the start and/or end dates of the playback as well as the speed. The ScheduleReview animation shows all display sets that you associated to tasks in the current project.

    Scheduling Settings: ScheduleReview Playback Settings

  5. Use the Animation Player to run the animation to see display sets at various states in your ScheduleReview project.

Animation Player: Use the Animation Player

    Play: Play
    Stop: Stop

Additional commands that could be helpful:

    Step Forward: Step Forward
    Play Backward: Play Backward

Sequencer: Set Time Block Start and End Times, Change the Current Time

  6. You can create queries to show specific display sets at various project states in the Main view. When you create the queries, you can use ScheduleReview playback settings to run the queries and see the query results in the animation. For example, you can search for elements that fall within the Critical Path category and display them as red, shaded graphics.

New Query: Create a New ScheduleReview Query
    Animation Settings: ScheduleReview Playback Settings

Additional commands that could be helpful:

Edit Query: Edit a ScheduleReview Query
