Allows you to register a tool plant to a valid SmartPlant Foundation site.

Register Dialog Box

Plant Name — Displays the tool plant name that you have provided when registering the tool.

Description — Displays the tool plant name description.

URL — Displays the node name and virtual directory of the SmartPlant Foundation database with which you want to register the active application. Use the following format: http://SPFServer/VirtualDirectory.

User name — Enter your SmartPlant Foundation user name.

Password — Enter your SmartPlant Foundation password.

Get Plants — Displays a list of available plants from SmartPlant Foundation in the Plant drop-down menu. You can select a plant from the list.

  1. Click SmartPlant > Register.

  2. Type a plant name in the Plant Name box.

    • The first character cannot be a number or a punctuation character.

    • The first three letters cannot be "xml" (or XML, Xml, and so forth).

    • The name cannot contain any spaces or special characters (for example, #, @, $, %, and so forth).

  3. Type the URL of the plant you want to register in the URL box.

  4. Type the Username and Password.

  5. Click Get Plants and select the available plants from the Plant list.

  6. Click OK. If the registration completes successfully, a message box appears to let you know that the tool is registered.

  • The Description box is automatically filled with the tool Plant Name and is read-only.

  • The new registered tool is selected as a default plant name.
