Microsoft Excel (*.XLS) file
Specifies the file that contains the item code and description data to import. You can specify an Excel file (.xls) or a file type supported by Excel, such as .txt, .csv, and so on. Type the full path location and file name directly into the box. Alternatively, click Browse and use the Specify Microsoft Excel File dialog box to navigate to the file.
Worksheet or range
Specifies the worksheet or range that contains the data to import. The Worksheet or range list displays the names of all the worksheets contained within the specified file. The list also displays the names of any defined ranges contained within the worksheet.
Item code column
Specifies the column in the worksheet that contains the item codes to import. For example, type A if the item codes reside in column A, type D if column D and so on. This option is mandatory.
Description column
Specifies the column in the worksheet that contains the material descriptions to import. This setting is optional. If you do not set this option, this Descriptions list is empty in the Material Builder.
Component type or group column
Specifies the column in the worksheet that contains the component types or groups to import. This setting is optional. If you do not set this option, the software does not filter any of imported data (item codes, material descriptions) in the Material Builder. Effectively, all of the imported data displays for each component type.
Settings
Opens the Component Type Settings dialog box so that you can specify how the software loads the user-specified Excel (.xls) data for an item when the component type is defined and when the component type is not defined.
Import data on startup
Controls whether software imports the data in the specified Excel file each time that you open Material Editor.
List Component Types or Groups
Displays all the available component types and groups. You can use this list to assist you in assigning the correct component type or group to an item code in your worksheet. To specify the component type or group in the worksheet, use the string that displays on the left in the list of items. For example, to specify a 3-way control valve component, type Control-Valve-3Way in the worksheet.
Import
Imports the data
Cancel
Closes the dialog box without importing any external data.
