Revising a new document is the simplest scenario for revision scheme behavior. The following example shows this scenario.

  1. From within the authoring tool, click SmartPlant > Revise.

SHARED Tip This command is available only if you have registered the active plant using the SmartPlant Registration Wizard.

  2. If you logged on to the authoring tool with a user name that is not defined in the integrated environment, log on to SmartPlant Foundation using a username and password valid for that application.

  3. In the Revision Scheme list, select RevA01.

  4. In the Revise in Tool Major list, select the major revision you want for the document. For example, you can select A as the first major revision or you can select a higher major revision, such as D, as the starting revision.

If the Skip revisions option is set to False on the Manage Integration Options dialog box in SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client, you are limited in which revisions you select.

  5. Click OK. The document currently available for retrieval by other authoring tools is not updated until you publish this revised document. The Revise command also reserves the revision value in the integrated environment.

  6. Revise the document again. In the Revise in Tool Major list, change the major revision to B.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Publish the document.
