Specifies the lower temperature limits used for minimum design metal temperature (MDMT) analysis as defined by B31.3, Paragraph 323.2.2 for materials to be used without impact testing. For carbon steels with a letter designation in the minimum temperature column of B31.3 Table A-1, the minimum temperature Tmin is defined by curves A, B, C, and D in Figure 323.2.2A.

Type A, B, C, or D for an applicable material.

Curves A, B, C, and D set a maximum pipe thickness of 3.0 inches. MDMT is not available above this thickness.

For materials that do not have the curve letter specified in the minimum temperature column of B31.3 Table A-1, use one of the following letters to represent the specified numerical value of Tmin.
