  1. On the Home page, click Bill of Materials > Flat Configurations.

  2. Enter a unique name in the Configuration Name cell and then enter a comment for the column mapping of flat loading configuration BOM import.

  3. In the Delimiter cell, enter the appropriate delimiter for columns separator in the csv-file you want to import for the selected flat load configuration.

If you do not define a Delimiter value for the columns of the csv file, the default and recommended value, a semicolon ';', is used.

  4. In the Skip Lines cells, enter number of lines to skip in FLC Load.

  5. Select Yes or No in the Summarize Position cell to indicate whether equal positions of a node should be summarized or not.

Here, equal that means not only the basic position data like ident, unit, and so forth must be the same, but also the property values.

  6. In the Class System cell, choose the appropriate CMS class system from the select list to include a check for CMS (Component Management System) idents.

    • A class system is also called as a classification system in which data can be logically arranged in several hierarchical groups called classes in the Component Management System (CMS). You can also create sub-slasses for the classes you have already created.

    • During BOM import using FLC, the FIND_IDENT procedure finds the corresponding CMS ident based on a given set of CMS ident property values and the class system.

    • The ident property values are defined using the FLC items POS_CATTR (Property) and POS_CTAB (Table Property).

    • The POS_CATTR and POS_CTAB items are not available when you haven’t assigned a class system to the FLC config.

    • The FLC items POS_SPEC, POS_SHORT, POS_OPTION, POS_CC, POS_SIZE1...4, POS_IATTR, POS_TAB, POS_CG, and POS_CP are not available when a class system is assigned to the FLC config.

    • During BOM import using FLC, the FIND_IDENT procedure finds the corresponding CMS ident based on a given set of CMS ident property values and the class system.

  7. In the Quantity Unit cell, choose the appropriate quantity unit for the BOM flat configuration import from the select list.

The available list of values contains all units of the unit group QUANTITY. This unit can be used in the CIP procedure omi_set_unit in the package m_pck_omi_custom to fill the field unit of the import table m_flat_pre_imports.

  8. In the Length Unit cell, choose the appropriate length unit for the BOM flat configuration import from the select list.

The available list of values contains all units of the unit group QUANTITY. This unit can be used in the CIP procedure omi_set_unit in the package m_pck_omi_custom to fill the field unit of the import table m_flat_pre_imports.

  • The Sort Positions By cell displays the position sort order, if defined in the Available Sort Items page.

  • If no sort order is defined, the software uses the standard sort order, which is the order of position data of the import file (fload_id).

  • You can sort the positions using the Available Sort Items page by clicking the Define Sort Order button.

  • You can assign BOM Procedures to the flat configuration using the BOM Procedures/Macros page by clicking the BOM Procedures button.

  • You can create a new configuration using the Standard FLC Templates page by selecting the Templates button.

  • To define the column mapping for each Flat Configuration, use the Flat Configuration Items page by clicking on the appropriate configuration name.
